Aura got busy and gathered the Royal pups to her room. "Alright little ones. This is the scoop. The Wicked Witch that lives in the Enchanted Forest has made the little princess sad which in turn makes the Queen sad. So what do you think we should do about it? Jinx, do you have an ideas?"
Jinx was the youngest and the most different of all of the royal puppies. He was very young; not even a year old plus his fur was black. The other puppies and Royal Dogs of the castle had lighter color fur and were much bigger than he would ever be. They would stand patiently in the castle kitchen and wait for treats from the Royal Chef and always get their favorite; cookie dough. At this time in his life he had not even been allowed in the kitchen. He decided that he would tell Aura what his life was like. He too was sad. He didn't even know what happy was like.
Jinx told Aura how he felt about being sad and different. Aura smiled to herself and decided that she would get into her special box of toys and things that she treasured. She found the little picture and lifted it out so that the puppies could see. "Jinx, does this look like I was a happy dog? I think not. I was sad, just like you are. That dog that is white? Well, that dog is the oldest of us all. Her name is Penuche. She is favored by the Queen so therefore the chefs in the kitchen pretty much gave her what she wanted. The day that picture was taken was one of the worst days of my life. So do you know what I did? I didn't cry about it. I did something about it. Yes I did. I made a friend. She was a poor little girl and seemed like she was always dirty. For some reason she liked me right away. She let me snuggle up to her and go for walks with her. She was so different than the people that lived in the castle. She told me secrets and told me how lonely she was. She said that she didn't have a bed to sleep in nor a family to love her. I started bringing her treats that I found on the floor and taught her how to wash her face in the little stream behind the castle. I found a little place in the Royal barn for her to sleep. We always had to be careful because I didn't know if the Royal Family would like her being there."
" I learned that every Christmas the Queen had the forest decorated with lights. It was so beautiful that it made everyone smile. That's when I decided that Christmas was a special day for humans. Most everyone smiled when the Queen had those trees decorated. Everyone except the Wicked Witch that lives out there.

Christmas time often leaves us with memories of loved ones we have lost. Making a friend is a good idea. If you have a friend then you can share your feelings and maybe even smile a little. Those puppies are adorable and full of questions. I hope Jinx makes a friend and won't be sad
yes beautiful puppies. Christmas is definitely a time of year to love and be loved.
